The only personnel remaining on airport property were predetermined contingents of Airport Police, Fire, Operations, Facilities and Management. On Sept. 28, Facilities personnel were dealing with some minor leaks, air-conditioning issues due to chiller tower impacts from rain and wind, but overall, these issues were minor. Facilities personnel started working on it immediately, piling ceiling materials near all the entrance doors for disposal later. By Thursday (Sept. 29), Operations personnel had completed checks of the airfield and lighting and determined the airfield was safe to operate. It’s the similar ownership and unselfish dedication being demonstrated by all those public employees out there working on repairs and clean up throughout the State.
